The article provides the analysis of the evolution of theoretical approaches of definition of competition and corresponding changes in competition policy. The comparison of analytical approaches of proponents and opponents of neoclassical model of competition is carried out. The article shows the influence of new approaches on the changes in the peculiarities of the application of the latter.
